OrionOS is a project based on slim. The name Orion was chosen as a representation of the beauty and vastness of world around us (Too much Philosophy, eh? :P ). We started this project for falcon (Moto G), to make a stable Rom which would include Bitsyko layers and important customization. The Rom is built with Uber toolchain which delivers awesome smoothness and is packed with a custom kernel built from ground-up to ensure good performance [WIP]. Needless to say, this project is a product of our hobbies and the love we bore for Android.

CM 12.1 compiled from source with Uber Toolchain 4.8. Any issues that are in official CM are present here. I was looking for an updated LP rom, and most have switched to MM, so I did this and learned how to build in the process.
I will try to update every weekend. You should know how to install a ROM, i am not a developer nor can I include any suggestions or fixes.

[ROM][6.0] nAOSProm for Google Nexus 7

nAOSProm-6.0 for Google Nexus 7 2012

The purpose of this rom is to provide a rom not so far of the AOSP with some cool features (nAOSP means "near AOSP").
This rom is fork of nAOSProm for Xperia S.

Features that are currently implemented:

nAOSProm-6.0 b01
  • AOSP android-6.0.1_r16
  • OTA: support with ROM Updater (see Settings/About phone/Updates)
  • OTA: Layers: OTA will preserve theme files when flashing a new ROM version (updating)
  • F2FS support
  • Superuser integration
  • Browser, Music and Gallery2: AOSP version replaced by CyanogenMod version
  • Power Key: Include Reboot menu (Normal, Soft, Recovery and Bootloader)
  • Quick Setting: Can be pull down directly with one finger on the 1/3 right of the Status bar
  • Recent Applications : Close all applications button on the right bottom
  • Double Tap to Sleep on the status bar
  • Settings: nAOSProm section that permit you to configure the ROM, to start Layers Manager, Superuser and SuperSU if available.
  • No FCs for Setup Wizard and Google Play Services on initial boot

Requirements:
Rooted Nexus 7, TWRP 2.8.7.0 - 3.0

Flashing:
  1. Backup everything
  2. Reboot into recovery
  3. Convert data / cache to F2FS
    1. Backup /sdcard - adb pull /sdcard/ sdcard/
    2. Change data to F2FS - in twrp go to Wipe, advanced wipe, select Data,
Repair or Change File System, Change File System, F2FS
    3. Change cache to F2FS - same as for data
    4. restore sdcard data - adb push sdcard /sdcard/
  4. Wipe everything except sdcard
  5. Unmount /system
  6. Flash nAOSProm
  7. Flash gapps - I recommend open gapps
  8. Reboot

Upgrading to future nAOSP versions:

This ROM has OTA update feature - it periodically (once a week by default) checks for new versions and offers to download and install them. You can check for new version manually in Settings/About phone/Updates. Before doing update you should set post update settings - other zip files that should be flashed after rom update. Once you set post update you can use it for future updates, or you can set updated zips before every update.

Thanks

Release notes:
2016/3/12
I have been building DU for other devices for sometimes. It feels quite good and balance in many ways. I long for the Official (or Unofficial) build too. I tested building DU late last year. There were still some glitches which required quite a few patches so I picked Omni. At that time Omni was comparatively stable. Omni is good but I want to try something new for myself after a few months. I think DU is ready now so its time to kick my slothful ass for a new daily driver. DU is the first (I think) one merging 6.0.1_r22. Cheers! ;)

Note:If you are from Omni (or AOSP based ROM?) like me, you probably don't needed to do factory reset. Just wipe cache/dalvik and your apps current state is most likely preserved. ;)

Change log: :victory:
Code:

Official Gerrit Change log
2016/3/12
  - Latest DU source, AOSP 6.0.1_r22 (MHC19J)
  - All DU's cool stuffs. Change log for v.10.0 is not yet available.
  - All fixes in my Omni6
  - kernel: The latest DC-kernel is equipped
  - Tegra3 Settins: PerformanceControl v2.1.5 is included

Gapps: ** We have a 650M system partition. Only pico Gapps can be installed.
All those with pico Gapps is recommended. (eg. OpenGapps)

** latest TWRP is recommended.
DU is already rooted.
If you are from Omni (or AOSP based ROM?) like me, you probably don't needed to do factory reset. Just wipe cache/dalvik and your current state (apps) would mostly likely be resumed. ;)
