This project is based upon the sources provided by the OmniROM Team. It is a feature-complete and stable home-made build of OmniROM 4.4.4 for Nexus 7 2012 (aka grouper), including all recent stagefright fixes, kernel security updates and multi-window support.

Micro or Nano Package recommended.

Rooting

Since OmniROM does not come rooted out-of-the-box, you can use SuperSU to do that if needed.
Grab SuperSU and flash it via TWRP.

It was bound to happen, so here it is. The Grouper running Android 6.0!

What works:

- NFC

I will not offer a ROM zip at this point due to the fact that the rootfs is inherently insecure for the time being. However, the sources are available below and should be bootable.

finished this one 4am this morning, and fell asleep before I could post, so here you go:

What works: selinux, camera, NFC, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth
No dirty patches in /platform, no dirty hacks
Lots of cool hacks though. Read up :)

This is for WiFi devices only (for now)
use latest public bootloader
and i suggest a data wipe - i do not support any conflicts with existing data - selinux policies changed in ways that might affect /data, so having things in /data can affect things like GPS adversely

AOSP 4.4.4 ROM baked with DEXHUNTER built in.

Credits to the DEXHUNTER team that put this together.

Usage:
If you want to unpack an app, you need to push the "dexname" file to "/data/" in the mobile before starting the app. The first line in "dexname" is the feature string (referring to "slide.pptx"). The second line is the data path of the target app (e.g. "/data/data/com.test.test/"). Its line ending should be in the style of Unix/Linux. You can observe the log using "logcat" to determine whether the unpacking procedure is finished. Once done, the generated "whole.dex" file is the wanted result which is located in the app's data directory.

If you don't understand this, this ROM is probably not for you. Please deffer to the power point slides for more information.

This ROM has only been tested with Nexus Grouper. It May brick other devices.

Tested via Flashing with TeamWin recovery.

Pretty much the same rom as I made for grouper, except built for tilapia. I do not have a sim card that fits and has a plan, but i verified the RIL comes up and it does get some signal bars

This is a build of Ziyan and friend's 3.4 kernel(against their will), optimized for release. Absolutely no debugging features allowed.
Ipv6 and complex adb functions broken.

Graphical Stuttering fixed.
Ubertc4.9.4 (Until I setup 6.0)
Latest F2FS sources. This F2FS is newer than everyone elses. Kanged from KHAON.
Brought up from 3.4.67 to 3.4.110.
Selinux disabled.
Optimized to all hell. Ofast probably regressed performance below that of O2 but Ofast makes people smile so whatever. It's smooth is all I have to say.
Works with any rom.

Mod Edit

Rolling release kernel, no versions. To report bugs tell me the hash, date, or build # of the kernel you have issues with.

Hello,

I've got an old Nexus 7 from 2012.
When my Nexus was off and charging, it automatically powered on when it had reached a specific charging level. - Or when the charger was disconnected from the device.

Now I've flashed another Rom which is based on Android L, and I'm missing the feature which is mentioned above.

I think this is a kernel-based feature.

Can you tell me, which kernel I should flash to enable this feature again?

Krexus was born out of a simple necessity. I will only guarantee the nexus 5 ROM and its abilities.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

The source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit our Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Instructions:
1. Factory reset if coming from another ROM.
2. Install ROM
3. Install GApps (optionally) [GApps recommended -> Open GApps (arm) (6.0) (nano or pico)]

I wait for a while for an MM to be my daily driver. I have a Tilapia which only have few choices. Dmitry's AOSP is quite good but lack of the "basic" features I was spoilt. I have tried a few ROMs in my other devices. I think Omni is the best for me so I added the device trees to my working directory. Dmitry's works make life much easier. I have added a few features and patches to the the Offical Omni. Cheers! ;)

First of sorry if this has been covered already if so please provide a link, for a while now and I think its since lollipop but not 100% sure but my N7 has problems charging while powered on, I have to power it off for it to charge properly, while on it indicates that it is charging but the % never goes up, if I plug charger in and N7 is reading 52% it will stay at that % for hours and not move, if I use the N7 the % will go down eventhough it is charging, my N7 is rooted and I'm using this rom- http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexu...931064/page131 any help on this thank.

Although I'd already uploaded the source to github, I was asked a few times to release the kernel of my OmniROM6 build. Frankly, I only contributed a small part of it. Most of the codes are here and there from other devices and/or developers. I just modified a few and patched a few.
This week, I was packaging a kernel for my other devices. Thanks for the AIK (Android image Kitchen) by @osm0sis, it make my life much easier. I think spending a few more minutes for my Nexus 7 is not a bad idea. I don't know if it would work for your existing ROM. I only have three success reports. Fail and success reports, suggestions and comments are welcome. :)
This might just another one time deal as my TWRP. I'll make this thread simple. Anyway, it's done. ;)

Theory: :confused:
The source is from the stock AOSP kernel (3.1.10) for grouper. The kernel binary is more or less the same for most of the ROMs posted. The major difference would be the ramdisk. With this in mind, I just replace the kernel binary and keep the existing ramdisk. The existing kernel might not have F2FS support so I replace the File System Table (fstab.grouper) too.
Even though this is from my Marshmallow ROM, it might also work for LP or earlier. The only file required to modified would be the fstab. For those who want to try, you may replace the file /data/AIK-mobile/fstab.grouper inside the zip.
