[ROM] [4.4.2 KK] [UNOFFICIAL] LiquidSmooth v3.0 grouper

If you're like me, you get a little jittery when you don't flash a new nightly often enough. To fill in the gaps between official LiquidSmooth releases, I will be building from source from time to time and I have received permission from the Liquid devs to share my builds. I have not made any changes.

I have not tested this build yet, so make a nandroid just in case.

EDIT: I jumped the gun and should have waited until I tested the ROM. I couldn't get 4/7 or 4/8 to boot past the Google screen. I'll post as soon as I get one to boot.

This is a Windows Batch Script/Tool to make any 4.4 based ROM to full F2FS compatibility !! This tool can convert any existing ROM from ext4 to Full F2FS Compatibility in a few clicks !! All tools necessary for conversion included in the batch file itself !!

Basic Info

What is F2FS?

 
F2FS (Flash-Friendly File System) is a flash file system created by Kim Jaegeuk at Samsung for the Linux operating system kernel. The motive for F2FS was to build a file system that from the start takes into account the characteristics of NAND flash memory-based storage devices (such as solid-state disks, eMMC, and SD cards), which are widely used in computer systems ranging from mobile devices to servers.

What is All-F2FS?

 
We used F2FS only for /data. It was simply because we have only to flash a compatible Kernel and Format /data partition. With All-F2FS we use F2FS for all partitions and we need a compatible ROM

***Special note for Stock ROM users***

The script requires busybox and since stock roms dont have busybox the repacked ROM wont boot up.
In such a case the best option is try out any other AOSP based ROM
Instructions

1. Unpack the Zip file you downloaded from Link Below
2. Run F2FS Convertor.bat
3. Select your device
4.Place the Zip in the Extract /Input directory when prompted
5. The script will Unpack your ROM
6. Select option 11 for boot.img supplied with the script or option 12 for cm boot.img and 13 for any other F2FS compatible boot.img
7. Repack your ROM
8. Check NEW F2FS ROM directory for the Repacked ROM
9. Flash and Enjoy
10.Cleanup the working directory cleanup.bat

What's Broken:


ROMS
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy JB. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.



How to flash:
  • Don't do it if you don't know it
  • ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes

[ROM] Dirty Unicorns 4.4.3 {Grouper} [v7.5]

Dirty Unicorns is a custom ROM built with stability in mind and optional customization. The idea to start this ROM began out of pure boredom around 4.1.2 on the EVO 3D and later turned into a form of an addiction (a good one) to see where we could go from there. We have since expanded to more devices to include the HTC One, Nexus 5, SGS4 and many more. We quickly realize that users loved what we were doing as well as other developers because it was done the right way. We've always had fun doing it and take pride in knowing that we've done it without having to bug the end user for donations to pay for server costs and/or any of those sob stories you hear. This ROM is 100 percent free and will remain that way.

Those wanting to use our ROM as a base are more the welcomed to do so but please maintained the credits/thanks below, do not ask for donations as it wouldn't be fair to do so considering and let us know as we often like to contribute to other projects.

So all ROMS here come with "All F2FS" support. That means that you can use the F2FS filesystem in

/cache

I want to share my build of SlimKat with full USB-DAC support (hot-plug, volume control, ..) and 30 volume stepps.
I am going to upload two builds: one with satus bar, and one without statusbar since i use the rom in my car and i don't need a statusbar in my car.

[MOD] Xposed USB Audio Support

here's a variant of the Nexus 7 USB audio patch. This does not require you run anything to mod your ROM, simply install the xposed framework, the following apk, and then enable the module to enable USB audio support. Obviously for use on ROMs without USB audio support only.

(ie. we're using xposed to hot patch in the USB audio support vs modding the rom).

Patch is known to work on SmoothROM 5.1 & 5.3 (based on 4.3) and the factory 4.4.4. Though the way I'm patching in support I expect it to work from any platform 4.2.1 - 4.4.x.

** note: you need a kernel with USB DAC support enabled, such as oxydo.....

also: I'm using this to patch in support for my jeep installed nexus 7, I'm not sure how well it supports hotplug.

[TOOL] [WIN/LINUX/ANDROID] [4.4.x] Grouper EXT4 to F2FS ROM Converter

This is a simple script that will convert any grouper EXT4 ROM to F2FS. The script will simply swap out boot.img (i.e. the kernel) and edit the updater-script to replace EXT4-specific lines with F2FS-specific lines. The included boot.img may be replaced with any gnex F2FS boot.img.

NOTE: If you have not reformatted your device for F2FS, you're not ready to use this tool yet. This tool will make a ROM F2FS-compatible, it will not convert your device to F2FS. To reformat your device to F2FS, start here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2678140

Windows instructions:
1) Unzip the windows zip to any empty folder.
2) Place your EXT4 ROM zip in the same folder, make sure there are no other zips in this folder.
3) Run EXT4_to_F2FS_grouper.bat.

Linux instructions:
1) Ensure you have sed, zip, and unzip installed. And note that this is a bash script.

4) cd into your converter folder.
5) Run "chmod +x EXT4_to_F2FS_grouper.sh". This only needs to be done once.

4) Run "su" (there's problems with unzipping when not root for some reason).

Main thread: OpenPDroid patches for CyanogenMod 11

WARNING: OpenPDroid is not compatible with ART for now. disable ART before flashing. enabling ART will cause the device to fail to boot. if you enabled ART and are unable to boot, flash official CyanogenMod temporarily to be able to fix (will cause privacy leaks). or if you have ADB access in android or recovery, you can disable ART by using setprop or editing a file.

these are grouper builds of CyanogenMod 11 patched with OpenPDroid. find them here.

update: releases will now be distributed as overlays to the official CyanogenMod snapshots. first flash the official "M" snapshot corresponding to the OpenPDroid overlay you want to flash, then flash the overlay.

update: CM11 M9 snapshot is now available.
(this release has been tested on an actual device.)

note: OpenPDroid does not affect the recovery nor the kernel, you can use whatever you want.

CM11-M6 broke OpenPDroid patches, so i forked OpenPDroid to restore compatibility, fix several bugs and clean up the code. sources are here.

Sailfish OS for Nexus 7 (WiFi 2012, grouper)

grouper_alpha

This is a community port of SailfishOS for the Nexus 7.
It features a gesture-based user interface with a unique design and ease-of-use in mind.
For more information about SailfishOS please head over to sailfishos.org.

This is not an Android ROM, this is a different operating system called Linux, running the GNU C library (glibc).
It only uses parts of Android for hardware enabling (drivers).

Release Notes:
This release is based on SailfishOS 1.0.8.19 (Tahkalampi).
The Nexus 7 port is considered to be of alpha quality.
